About this tune
This familiar minuet appears in the 1725 notebook of Anna Magdalena Bach. Long published under Johann Sebastian Bach’s name, it is now credited to Christian Petzold.
Two balanced sections unfold in three beats per bar. The second climbs into a brighter register before the melody settles back into G major.
