About this tune
Steve Nelson and Jack Rollins wrote Frosty the Snowman, first recorded by Gene Autry in 1950. Its snowman comes to life through the magic of a hat, turning a winter scene into a playful adventure.
The cheerful melody follows Frosty’s time with the children and his promise to return. The song later inspired the 1969 animated television special, helping make the character a lasting part of Christmas tradition.
