About this tune
Fanny Power belongs to the music of the Irish harper Turlough O’Carolan. The melody is heard in different rhythmic groupings, including a graceful three-beat form.
Broad phrases and an unhurried rise and fall give it a singing quality. Its two sections balance a gentle opening with a more expansive reply.
