About this tune
The Blarney Pilgrim is a three-part jig included in O’Neill’s The Dance Music of Ireland in 1907. Its extra strain gives it a broader journey than the usual two-part dance tune.
A D-centered opening leads to a higher middle part before the final strain turns back toward the home note. The modal melody and recurring rhythmic figures tie the three sections together.
